Mayor Velveth Schmitz was elected to the Rolling Hills Estates City Council in 2015. Velveth Schmitz has over 10 years of volunteer experience with the city of Rolling Hills Estates. She served as a commissioner on the Parks and Activities and Planning Commissions. She was chair of the Planning Commission in 2012. Velveth also served on the Environmental Committee, The Hills Are Alive Race Committee and The Holiday Parade Committee.
Velveth was the Chief Operating Officer for Athletes’ Renaissance. She was Vice-President at Invent Ventures, Inc. and head of Business Development at Stockr, Inc. She served as CEO and founder of The Hen and The Bird, Inc. Velveth was a manager in Product Development and Client Management at Transamerica Retirement Services, a corporation with $13B assets under management.
Velveth is the Chair of the Roessler Chadwick Foundation Board of Trustees. She is a Board Member on the Peninsula Chapter National Charity League Board. She serves as a Commissioner, appointed by Supervisor Janice Hahn, on the Los Angeles County Economy and Efficiency Commission. She volunteers in a variety of roles for the University of California at Berkeley.
Velveth is the proud mother of two wonderful girls and is married to her college sweetheart.
